Capital of the homonym Province, Ragusa is situated in the south-east of Sicily, it counts around 70.000 inhabitants and an area of 442.37 km². It’s built on a wide limestone hill between two deep valleys, Cava San Leonardo and Cava Santa Domenica and it is listed among the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The city has two distinct areas, the lower and older town of Ragusa Ibla, and the higher Ragusa Superiore (Upper Town).
